mx1000 program downloading

hi,I need to update(by program downloading) my mx1000(home theater master) ,its usally made with a little help of pc com port and cable rs232-3.5mm stereo jack ,the question is what does really cable is-the simple three wires or should have some chip beetveen com port and remote jack?thanks stanislav
cause I failed to download-read tests are ok,but program is EMPTY and NO progress scale,version shows 1.00

thanks a lot,but anywhere,my mx refuse to download or even to back to the
factory configuration(reset button I know),
mx turns on,turns out,shows 3 tests are ok,but program is empty,being ready
for downloading,empty downloading process,tnen failing the download when
jack is plug out and NO removing to the original configuration by pressing main
page buttons together for 5 sec-only non-stopping bipping.
Mayby its brocken?

This is a 11 year old remote.  Maybe its time to upgrade, even remotes do not last forever.  I am surprised you can even program this anymore.

ok,but is it really so old?when I got it there was a menu with 5 types of home
equipment(even plasma was),but there wasnt AUDIO window what I need much
so there was a back way -from modern to old,and ANYWAY why I couldnt restore
the BASE configuration?
