samsung tv's as of this year will all be IP Controllable. they submitted the codes to crestron who had a demo crestron panel controlling it at show.

sony's high end sets (i think the XBR's) now have RS232

directv confirmed that the boxes are now IP controllable and that they finalized the code set.

I've been controlling my DirecTV DVR using IP for several months now, and not with the app. The iRule database has had the codes for quite a while.

Can someone post a link to the updated IP protocol for DirecTV.

DirecTV was handing out a postcard with the link, but it didn't make it back home.

The real question is if the module will have 3D and Smart HUB functions... Which is what I need to get rid of my IR emitter and go full 232 damn Samsung for making nice, yet unfriendly displays.

Latest Samsung models can now be switched on over IP :) I do not kno wthe code and have got an older Samsung TV that I have hacked to run a patched firmware to give me more IP support.

Found this statement "BT Power On Support for PDP D8000 model and greater." on this website:

market.android.com/details

Have a look at the What new Tab.
