1. Are you getting anything from the Lutron at all?

2. Is the port configured correctly in the Lutron software?

3. Are you using the RTI Lutron Driver? If not, why.

I am pretty sure you can just use the cat-5/232 adaptor that comes with the XP-8 with a straight cat-5 cable to communicate.

Obviously the processor has to be set up to talk correctly on the port and the Homeworks port has to be set to the same config.
Don't read my answer. Someone else will go into great detail as to why I am wrong rather than answer the original question...

Also. Why not use Ethernet with the RTI driver. Saves a port.

First, I would not use TCP/ip, or the RTI driver if you are having problems. First we need to figure out exactally what kind of problem you are having, and It sounds like this is the first time you are doing this. I assume you uploaded the latest OS to homeworks.

What processor are you using?
Do your keypads work?
What links do you have configured?
What is your baudrate, partiy bit and handshaking set to?
Does your processor have a static ip?
is the processir sending replies?

So here is what I would do:

1. Make sure you can control homeworks
