I have a tandberg codec that I am controlling via a crestron. so I know the rs232 works. however when I try to go directly into the tandberg via hyper terminal, it will not communicate via rs232. It will work via tcp. the cable is good since I can connect to other devices. any suggestions?

sometimes with hyperterminal you can't enter the command fast enough and it times out and the device ignores the command. I found this out with a Christie projector and power on (PWR1) it would ignore it every time but when using a utility that enters the command all at once it worked.
