Hi Everyone,
I have a BenQ SP840 that I need to setup with my RTI TC-C+ and an XP-6. I called BenQ to get the rs232 commands but I cannot seem to get this to work. I have a cm-232 that is plugged into io port 6 of the XP-6. Here is what the rs232 command is:
power on: *pow=on# (which I tried and also tried *pow=on#\r and \r*pow=on#\r) power off: *pow=off#
Can someone help, Please?
Chris

I did an 890 not too long ago and that is the right syntax if they are the same. Check your baud rate. The 890 uses a higher baud of 115200 as opposed to the default 9600 in ID8.

Thanks Eriks for your reply...I actually figured out the reason for this.
First off rs232 code for this is \r*pow=on#\r. This is the correct way to write it.
Secondly the pins on the rs232 of the BenQ is exactly the same as the rs232 on the cat5 to the xp-6. So inorder for the BenQ and XP-6 to communicate I switched the the RX and the TX on cat5 connector. so the BenQ has RX on pin 3 and TX on pin 4, I did TX on pin 3 and RX on pin for to go to the XP-6. This way the XP-6 will receive the BenQ on transmission and vise versa.
Hope this will help anyone out there who has the same issue.
