Hello all,
I am integrating a Niveus Media N7 with a Crestron control system. I'm looking for a way to send keyboard commands and shortcuts to the PC over the Ethernet network. I can use AutoHotKey for keyboard shortcuts to do any number of things, but I need to find a way to send out keyboard commands to the computer and for the computer to listen for them on the network.
I have used Niveus's Control Server Telnet Client, which I believe is included with their Movie Library. It has a telnet listen on port 23 for plain text commands.
For example, to send a keypress of spacebar, the Crestron just sends serial I/O string of "SendInput space\n" on TCP/IP port 23. The telnet client lists for that and issues to keypress. This works for basic singular keypresses, but it doesn't have any abilities for combination shortcuts like CTRL+SHIFT+F11 or something like that, where all keys are pressed simultaneously.
It looks like vmcController is just about the exact same thing.
Are there any other software programs out there providing this functionality, but a little more robust?
