I have been looking for cursor and other serial commands for the Samsung LED TV's. I am using the older model 750 DLP list found in the Manual for that set through the Ex Link port. Most of them work but there are no cursor commands nor enter, menu etc. I found mention of cursor commands here but they do not work on the LED series sets. I have tried contacting Samsung tech support and that was an exercise in futility.

No cursor, enter, menu, Internet, or media commands available.

It seems that there should be commands for these items. The iPhone app can use them so you would think that they are just mirrored on the serial. I would be happy to use IP control but it seems even harder to obtain any info on doing that!

If you are using serial control through the ex link port, have you been able to get the power on function working? I have all of the other regular (not extended) commands working, just not power on. It seems that the tv puts the ex link port to sleep when in standby. Is there any way to over ride this, or otherwise turn on the tv short or ir?

Btw- I have a un55b8500

Thx

bcall;
I have the power on command working on a UN40C7000. I understand that the serial port or ex link on older models is not active when the TV is off. I have not run across a way to make it active durring power off.

Rogerdata,

Thanks for the info. Looks like I may be stuck with ir. Very frustrating.
