Hi,

I'm using a Marantz SR7002 with a Marantz RC9001 and RX9001. When I try to obtain the format of the input signal (for instance dolby digital, pcm, dts HD master or whatever) via rs232 it's working only for the 'traditional' formats, not for the HD formats. According to the documentation on the Marantz website, the traditional formats return a value from 0,1,2,3....E,F and the HD formats G,H,I,J,K. However, when I use dts HD master, which should return the value 'I', the receiver returns the value '0'.
I'm sure my blu ray player outputs the dts HD master signal in bitstream and the display of the SR7002 also confirms this. Just not the rs232 feedback.

Anyone here has an idea?

Thanks, Peter

No,

did you try to debug? You should see at least a parse error or something like that.. Also, with a laptop/hyperterminal, also wrong feedback?

Maybe a post for the pronto area?

I'm pretty sure this is not a Pronto problem, but it's with the RS232 feedback from the receiver. The response I get is "SIG:0", which is labeled "no detect" according to the Marantz documentation, instead of the expected "SIG:I", corresponding with the dts HD master signal.
Btw, I returned my receiver to the dealer this morning, because of a firmware update. Maybe that will solve the problem as well (allthough this problem is never mentioned anywhere). Fingers crossed!

Unfortunately, the firmware update did not solve this problem. RS232 feedback for HD audio formats is still not working properly.
Suggestions are very welcome!

Any luck with this issue? I'm struggling with it just now on my 8002...

Sorry for lifting an old tread.

Regards
