Does anyone know of a way to control an Apple TV via IP and send more advanced commands like playing a specific playlist, song, etc? I know the iPhone/iTouch Remote App can do it but I would like to be able to control it from something like EventGhost so I can create macros for launching playlists, videos, songs, etc. I've done a lot of searching but haven't been able to find any sort of protocol/spec.

There is no published protocol. There are some Crestron modules that have been made by sniffing the packets.
