i worked on it for about 8 hours before throwing in the towel. Here are a couple of applications that might help someone to figure the commands out. UPnP Inspector and Developer Tools for UPnP Technologies has a Device Sniffer that will show the traffic. I think with the two of them and someone that purchases the iPhone app, you could probably use it as a sniffer to see what is sent to the TV for the controls.

anyone up for it? :)

I have UN40C6300 connected to a Cisco switch. I can see what's being sent to the TV if I set up a port mirror in the network switch and connect a computer with Wireshark to a mirrored port.
How does iPhone talk to the TV? Is there a program I can run on the computer that can control the TV?

I got a reply from Samsung at long last.

There reply was" this information is commercially sensitive" so cannot be released .

Samsung GET A LIFE!

I have never dealt with a company that has been so difficult to get support from.

Still have 2 unresolved issues so im guessing there take another 3 months :(

Samsung probarbly has a service company externally for their support for third party's.. Search for them, and they will give you more info since their policy is more "friendly".

On the US app store there is an app to control the tv thru wifi, try to load it to an iPhone or itouch and with wireshark sniff the tcp traffic

The samsung app is not available here in Europe yet.

without a Samsung televison at my disposal right now this is the best I can do to help.

it looks like the iphone app is sending a UDP multicast packet on port 1900
and is using IPv6.

Here is the payload of the packet that the app is sending out

M-SEARCH * HTTP/1.1

Host:[FF02::C]:1900

ST:urn:Microsoft Windows Peer Name Resolution Protocol: V4:IPV6:LinkLocal

Man:"ssdp:discover"

MX:3

I am unsure if the TV will respond to unsolicited strings coming in without a successful UPnP connection being established first. The TV should respond the the packet above with a response telling the control point its Ip address and Port that it will be listening on. This address and port information is the first step to getting the TV to respond.

If i can get my hands on one of the new series TVs I will explore this further

I would be very interested in the codes and how to send. If anyone successfully reverse engineers this or finally gets Samsung to release info. I believe that they are not releasing it due to the fact that they produce a touch screen remote model RMC30C2 that works through IP. It looks nice but has a price tag of $350.00 retail here in the US.
