Add the Pioneer VSX-1120 to all current Elite receivers (except the SC-09TX). IP port is 23 or 8102 which the iPhone app uses.
Current Blu-ray players use port 8102 only.

All of NetStreams DigiLinX line (it is native IP).

Our Musica line, although analog, can be IP controlled via the R2EM adaptor.

Does anybody have the protocol doc for Yamaha's IP control? (RX-V2065 specifically)....

Did you ever get this? I am looking for the z7's IP control protocol.

Problem with that unit is that it shuts down all ports when it enters standby so you cannot POWER-ON through IP or its internal web pages - despite them having POWER-ON option.

Second, for true IP control it requires telnet session to port 23 (default telnet port). Your hope is that whatever is issuing these commands will keep the session open and not close it with every request (e.g.: volume up) otherwise you will have delay between commands of around 10ms or more to establish TCP session (expensive) and the a telnet session (not too bad).

Especially the energy savings functions are terrible.. Falling back on rs232 in most cases because it's much more stable. Also, some IP devices support only 1 connection at a time. With feedback, it will only talk to 1 device.. While Globalcache serves up to 4 devices..

i agree with Wall-e, most of the devices can not be switched on with ether net

I am playing with IP control of some Yamaha devices now using RTI T2-C+ and XP-3/XP-6. Some comments regarding posts in this forum:

1. yes, the RX-A3010, -A2010, -A1010 are IP controllable; the format for the commands are found on the Yamaha PAB website (login required)
2. Yamaha's new Blu-ray player BD-A1010 is IP controllable
3. Yamaha supports YNCA and YNC - Yamaha Network Control and YNC Alias. YNC is Ethernet only; YNCA is Ethernet + RS-232. YNCA is far simpler to use, where YNC is a complex command structure (complex for A/V gear)
4. YNC supports 4 (more for higher-end models) simultaneous connections; YNCA only 1
5. The BD-A1010 apparently only supports YNC for Ethernet; that's the only doc I find on Yamaha PAB
6. there are RS-232 commands for the BD-A1010, and it has an RS-232 port

Now the rant: I am spending a lot of time to try to get a set of Ethernet commands to control the Yamaha A/V receivers and BD-A1010 over Ethernet. I have the following reasons:

1. ashamed to use 1960's RS-232 in the year 2011 [I mean, really?]
2. those devices are already on the network for content; why more connections?
3. serial port support on controllers, even just the cables, gets pricey: see #2
4. it's much quicker and ought to be more reliable
5. it's the future (can't believe I'm saying that in 2011)
6. it offers valuable feedback in terms of meta-data, even just for volume level, not to mention songs from iPods, HD radio, Internet Radio, etc.
7. I've got to bite the bullet sometime, and I prefer to be ahead of the curve to build my experience

My initial experience with the BD-A1010 proved formidable, but I have strings that work. It was counter-intuitive to me (and I've done IT 30+ years), but these devices really are mini-servers now. You have to take the 140-or-so character XML command structures and preface them with another 100 or so HTTP PUT command headers. Not sure my beta-like drivers for RTI (of course not officially published) are going to handle this, but I'm going to try. Would love to find a small, simple and free HTTP POST generator, but I've done it by hand so far.

I will post further on a specific Yamaha-IP topic I'll either jump on or start. It took me so long to get here, and I rely on these forums a lot, so I feel obligated to share.

One more point about something I read here: not sure when it started, but the RX-Ax010 models support Network Standby, and I've successfully turned on my RX-A3010 from an IP command.

I am overjoyed that our cutting-edge A/V technology is catching up to latter-day twentieth century functionality. I hope it's not too far away when they're fully 21st century compliant.

The DirecTV TiVo THR22-100 is IP controllable, but falls in to the catagory of only 1 IP connection at a time.

ADA Mach IV and Suite 7.1 a/v processors IP controllable (have a Crestron module for them)

New http://www.LumenCache.com LED Lighting system will have an IP interface as well as a programmable cloud app interface via http://www.electricImp.com

Driver/interface developers should use the Contact Us page and check the Dealer/Installer/Integrator in the drop-down list.

The MainBrain should be available in January for large integration projects.
