I have noticed that RTI's CM-232 is a male DB9, my Sony STR-DA5500ES is also a male DB9.

I know that in some cases, you cannot use a gender adapter. Does anyone know if I can control my Sony STR-DA5500ES through RTI's RP-6 with a CM-232 with a gender adapter?

No sense in buying the CM-232 if it's not going to work!

Thanks all,
Chuck

Yes you can control it, however Sony receivers require both a gender changer and a null modem to reverse pins 2 and 3. Hope that helps.
