I sure as heck don't want to wait for Sirius to give me the protocol. I have the 1.0 protocol and am about to design a controller for the SXV200. I want to make sure the few features I'm dealing with haven't changed. How can I get the 2.0 protocol doc?

Hey! I'm a home automation integrator. I'm looking to get an sch2p sirius radio to work with an hai/leviton system. Could someone reply with the sirius xm protocol info? Is this just a long list of 232 commands? I understand they are saying its two way communication but i guess im wondering why?

Thank!

Jonathan

If it's not 2-way, how do you know what's playing or what to select? If you have to go to the unit to make your music choice, why integrate?

The Sirius SCH2P RS232 protocol is two way. My SCH2P Is connected to my AVP. When I command the AVP (over RS232) to connect to the Sirius Radio input port, it turns on the Sirius Radio using a 12 volt trigger. From that point forward I can completely control the Sirius radio with full feedback as to status and what is playing. This is done over RS232 coming from a PC that controls the Theater or from an iPad that controls all my home Automation. The iPad talks to the PC controlling the theater over TCP which is controlling the Sirius SCH2P.

Anyone still have the protocol document? Sirius XM refuses to give it to me and simply repeats, "use the Crestron/AMX module"

Hello all, I'm new on here but this thread has been very interesting to me although there is less activity lately. I'm curious to see if anyone has any information on the new protocol that sirius is using. I have figured out most of the formatting for my basic needs but not the checksum part and it seems completely different from the documentation relating to v1.0.7. I see mention from "JosephCenxudong" that the svx200 may have been using this protocol as well I am using a svx300 personally and can confirm it is new. I've looked on Barry Gordans' download section and it appears that unless I missed it all of the documentation was for the version 1 protocol. Has anyone else had any luck getting the documentation or figuring out the checksum on the new protocol?
