So I am trying to control the above listed Blu Ray player, via RS232.

I looked in this thread [Link: remotecentral.com] , but after trying a Null Modem and adding the /r to all of my commands, I still have no response from the player at all.

What I am using,
RTI T2-c
RTI RP6
RTI CM232
Radio Shack brand Null Adapter (Verified)

I have checked and rechecked my commands are input properly. And my settings for the RS232 commands are set at:

115200
No Parity
8 Data Bits
1 Stop Bit
No Flow

All commands are input ASCII

Power On: /A181AFBA/RU (this is what the document lists)

Power On: /A181AFBA/RU/r (this is what SeanS posted in the other thread, but I could not get it to work)

Can anyone help me out?

Two things I would recommend doing as I have controlled this unit with a RTI ZRP-6 and T2CZ combo using one of the built in 2 way com ports.  First is update the firmware of the BD player as I have heard that some of updates addressed RS-232 issues.  The firmware can be downloaded from the website and burned to a CD-R, or if you have a network connection there you can go that route.  As far as the power on command, this is the command that works /A181AFBA/RU\r.  115200, 8, None, and 1 are the settings.  It is a null connection.  Verify the proper directions of your slashes and let me know if you have any other issues.  I also might recommend trying another CM-232 module if you can't get this to work as I have had one or two go bad in my time.

Thank you for the response. I left the system controlling via IR for the time being, other projects were calling. I will verify everything again, and post what I find, or don't.

Thanks again.

Had the same issue with Pioneer BDP-23FD updating the firmware fixed the issue. Just went to home menu > initial setup menu > options > software update > start > yes it downloaded and installed itself came back the next day and everything was working. That never happens but it did this time.

I'm using a Crestron BDP-09FD module to control.
