Hello, I've done a bit of reading on the forum and couldn't find the information I'm looking for. Maybe someone can help me out with a little project I'd like to start on.

I have an Elite VSX-84TXSi receiver with an RS-232 port that can be used as a remote control. What I'd like to do is setup an in wall 5"-7" LCD touch screen to control the hallway speakers that are setup as Zone 3 on the receiver. Just need some basic control (power, volume up, and volume down) to start, and if things go well, build in more advanced control.

Is there a programmable touch LCD & controller available in the market anyone can recommend?

Thank you, for the help, and I apologize if this has already been asked, I couldn't find the answer in my browsing.

You can use RTI's RK-3 inwall with a CPB-1 interface for the RS-232 control.

Budget?

What level of programming are you talking about?

There are devices like this which can do most anything if you are prepared to code most every aspect of your application using something like Microsoft Visual Studio.

They also have simpler devices that can be programmed using Basic and/or Ladder Logic.
