I need the RS232 hex commands to control Philips 26HF7874/10 and 37HF7444/10 screens. Specifically to switch the screen on and off and to switch between RF and HDMI inputs. I called Philips and they say that they do not have the commands. They suggested remotecontrolcentral.com
I am using a Cisco Digital Media Player 4400G with RS232 connection to the screen's data 2 input.
The cable that I am hoping to use is a Cisco console cable, RS232 (9w D type) to RJ45.

Thanks but I need the hex commands for the Philips LCD screens for the Serial Xpress interface.

e.g. the switch on commands for an NEC screen is rs232.tx_hex=AA11FE010111

switch to HDMI input
rs232.tx_hex=AA14FE012134

An example from a Sqamsung RS232 manual is shown below, I can convert these commands to hex, what I am after is the commands.

Ex) Power On & ID=0

FF

Data 1
Check Sum
0xAA
0x11

Has anyone ever found RS232 for this series of LCDs?

This is known to work on the BDL series.
(A pasted report from Code Manager)
Note that as it says the panel is set to address 1
The serial comms on these units is very unforgiving of any noise or even an invalid command, such as Auto Adjust while in CVBS mode. A power cycle is required to recover.

hey everyone!
I've just bought an used Philips BDL4231 LCD screen in fair condition because it was the only way to fit my budget for a large flat screen... the previous owner locked both local keypad and remote control :/ according to the manual, the only solution to unlock is to use the RS232 protocol... I bought one of those cables on ebay (I'm sure I have one somewhere but impossible to remember the last time it was of any use for me!) but I simply have no idea on what to do once I'll connect the TV to the PC... I imagine there will be no "nice-and-easy plug-and-play pop-up". I'd be grateful if someone is kind enough to guide a newbie to finally get to use his screen...
Thanks a lot, have a nice day everyone.
