Anybody controling Benq W9000 through rs232?
I've seen threads on other Benq models. Wiring is probably the same. I asume 3-wire connection will work without shortening any pins on either side.

Protocol seems to be different for most models, so far i have found three different specs for Benq projectors but none of them say they are for W9000 model.

I've done a W10000. You'll most likely need a DB9 to DIN cable from "Cables to Go". I don't remember the exact model number for the adapter cable but if I can remember tomorrow when I head into work, I'll check.

I have soldered the cable myself, mini-din is a pain solderring.
After a few hours trying different baud rates and protocols it seem's to work with 9600-n-8-1 and a protocol looking like this:
X001X

What really surprises me is that i can't find any query commands and no discreete for power on/off. (above axample toggles power)

Is this the same protocol you are using?

Looks to be the same protocol. Sorry, I completely forgot to check for the part number. Glad to see you were able to make the cable though. I'll dig up the protocol lists that I have and post anything relevant.

Thanks for the file kstrange,
However i think my W9000 is using a older subset of this protocol. The document mentions that for w5000 and w20000 fw 1.08 is needed.
Maybe there's a newer firmware available for w9000 aswell. Du you know how to check corrent firmware version? I can't seem to find it in any of the menus.

No, sorry I haven't a clue how to check for the firmware version. I'd call the manufacturer and let them know what you're trying to accomplish. I received the info that I sent you straight from BenQ. You may get lucky enough to speak with someone compitent there. Explain your situation and ask for someone familiar with the protocol.

-Good Luck!
