Hello,

I'm programming a house with two RFX9600. They both have static IPs and so do all the TSU9600 in use. Nothing conflicts with anything, and they also have their own wifi channel (11) whereas the Sonos' installed in the house are on (1) so that there is no interference.

For some reason, 50% of the time, they freeze and the "busy" led stays on for some time, before it goes off so that the remote can be used again. I've notices that this happens whenever a serial port is used, whether it is the 3 LG tvs that are on the second processor, or the Denon AVR and AMX switch on the first processor. It is so inconsistent that i cant narrow down the reason to the cause of this. Everything might work for 10 minutes, and then continuously freeze on every button press for the next to minutes. when it does work ok, everything responds fine. I've disconnected any other equipment from the network, removed WPA and made it as simple as possible to find the problem.

Any ideas, help ?

Much appreciate it.

I'm also new, but I've been through that experience.

I ran a firmware update on both the RFX9600 and the remote (a TSU9600 in this case) and it appears to have fixed it. I also lowered the polling of network resources I was doing to every 5 seconds, letting the interface pretend that it was synchronised when in reality it was off by up to 4 seconds.

So if the firmware update doesn't help, my experience suggests it might be part of your code that's causing it.

Sorry for the double post, but to make a point of it/highlight for the OP.

Try reloading your firmware. Go into the Network Settings tab/section, and restore the defaults. Hit save. If it saves, then do the firmware update again. See if the issue keeps presenting itself.

When I installed the remote at home I messed up. I originally had it running fine on its stock firmware (whatever that version was), then updated it with the Pronto. Then for the next month I worked solely on a TCP/IP interface (in bits and pieces, totalling about four hours), so I didn't know it was bugged. I found I had the same problem yesterday after getting some RS232C codes from another forum member and finding the debug saying it wasn't responding.

I fixed it by re-installing/re-flashing the same firmware (1.3.8) over the top. Twice. Now all is dandy :)
