I've just started recently with X10 and have made an annoying discovery. The RF Appliance/Receiver modules only receive (and redistribute via X10) RF from one house code.

Luckily, I started out buying two starter kits (Firecracker, then IBM HD), so I have two RF/Appliance modules, and have set them for different housecodes.

I've recently purchased some more light modules and 4 Hawkeyes to get more out of it. With the Hawkeyes taking up 2 units each, I may start running low on unit codes in the future.

Anyway... the question is. Is there an RF receiver that receives all 16 housecodes, so I can logically group these items and not run tight on unit codes?

Also, I've noticed that the 2WayAppliance/Xcvr unit included with the Firecracker deal only responds to it's house/unit code if sent by RF/Firecracker, not if sent by the CM11. (It's not an X10 signal issue. A lamp module in the same plug will respond to X10 commands).

I don't know of a transceiver that does what you need, but if you don't use the light sensing feature of the Hawkeyes, you can disable it and reclaim the second unit code.

This can be done by programing the unit (see the dox), by taking it apart and covering the light sensing widget with black tape, or even by taking a pair of side cutters and removing it.

Cheers, Jim
