Hello ALL:
I have a bunch of X-10 stuff and an old CM11A serial controller and old software (ActiveHome). It is getting hard to update as my new systems are Win 8.1 64 bit with no serial ports. I do not mind replacing the controller if there are any that are USB based and have software that will work with 64 bit Win 8.1. Now I use an old XP system to update, but I can see this will come to an end someday!

Maybe it's me, but I still have a win2K machine still in use for home automation tasks. (As well as an active, ready to plug in spare). If your existing controller and software works, what motivation is there to upgrade to "modern" multicore machine?

Get a USB to Serial adapter. Works fine.

It has been a while, but I wonder if there is any software that will work with 64 bit Windows 10? I have a CM11A, but if there is X10 software available, perhaps I can find a USB based controller. I do have a serial to usb adapter, but do not believe there are any Windows 10 drivers for it. X10 is working OK, but the XP systems that I have the software on are going away soon!
