Hi Everyone

We need to make decision as to whether to use Philips Dynalite system for our home and wanted to know how well it works?
We would also like to know how it compares to Lutron?
Is the wiring the same for both so if we want to change it over it won't be a problem later?

Hi sue . I'm not familiar the the Philips but I am familiar with many systems. The fact that it is so non-mainstream gives me pause.

I'm not sure of your system size but if those are your two choices then lutron with hesitation. Fwiw I have been installing lighting control for over a decade. Lite touch was my goto for centralized systems but will be moving to lutron homeworks.

I see my problem. Dynalite is not a us product.

I would find a local dealer/integrator in your area that you are comfortable with. Then see what lines he offers. It has been my experience that starting with a great dealer and working within his product mix works better than finding product you like then seeking a dealer.

Hello. My name is Derek Cowburn and I developed a lighting product called LumenCache. We're building a dealer network now so not sure if it will work with the timing of your home project but if you're a few weeks out for wiring then please check it out at http://www.lumencache.com .

It is very different from traditional AC lighting control systems and is designed around the capabilities and native power requirements of LEDs.

Derek, Is your product rated to work in the UK? Is it even available there?

I recently purchased a Harmony One controller and have been pleased thus far. I have a wall box which contains 3 dimmer switches in my room. One switch controls the ceiling fan, one controls my spots, and the last controls wall sconces.

Thanks for any advice!

We install Control4, as a home control system its brilliant but sadly we prefer to use third party lighting control and interface it with Control4, such as Clipsal C-Bus. The Din rail Control4 lighting is a mixture of RF and bus wired, the switches use Zigbee Pro and on some buildings this could lead to problems with the mesh, whereas C-Bus is a standalone bus wired system.

Go with Lutron. Established company, and support is available everywhere. Sure, it may not be as elaborate or expensive as Vantage or Crestron, but maintenance down the road will be much easier. Everyone knows Lutron, and support is the most important thing. You don't want to be in the position we're in now, trying to find support from a few local guys who can work with Vantage. Don't get me wrong, the system has been stable with a few hiccups along the way, but if we could do it again - I would've gone with Lutron a million times over.

I may be off on this assumption, but I'm guessing they didn't go three years with no lighting. My guess is they finished their project LONG ago

Lighting Control System or Home Automation Lights are now getting common day by day. A lot of sellers are there in the market namely Silvan, Cubical and many more.... I will suggest to go with lights provided by AOTNext.
