Hi all,
I recently installed an IR543 IR-to-X10 interface. I'm using the Radio Shack 15-2117 to control the 543 (the remote's "RF Command Center," which listens for RF and sends IR faces the IR543, which turns the IR signal into X10).
I have no problem getting this setup to control X10 units 1-8 (CH+/- for ON/OFF, VOL+/- for DIM/BRIGHT), but I can't figure out how to address the 'double digit' units: I was under the impression that, even though the IR 543 only has buttons for units 1-8 similar to a mini-controller, it could send all 16 unit codes on the house code its dial is set to when controlled by a remote. Can anyone tell me how to address unit #s 9-16 with my set-up?
Thanks in advance for any help,
-- Mitch

I don't remember the exact keys but try this: 9= 9 0 = 10 rewind = 11 play = 12 ffwd = 13 record =14 stop = 15 pause = 16 power = all lights on
Hope this helps.
O mute = all off vol up = bright vol down = dom

Previous ofa remotes had addresses 9-16 on the transport commands, but not the 2117. You will need to add them using advanced codes. To map them to a key on the 2117, see this thread.

Another case of this forum saving my home automation bacon ... I had this sinking feeling I was gonna have to buy an X10-brand remote just to learn its codes (and waste precious 2117 memory), but a little 'advanced code' magic and voila, *twice* as many X10 addresses to monkey around with via RF remote!
I printed out the instructions and codes from both your links for future reference.
Thanks again to all who answered!
