I live in the UK and I am interested in getting a X10 controller something like HomeVision. Is this the best option out there or should I consider something else?

All depends upon your needs ... But I've had the Homevision controller for some time now and must say it controls all my lighting perfectly ... I'd suggest making a list of the things you might want to do with your controller, then match the product to those needs ... Homevision is a bit pricey if you are not going to take advantage of all the features ... Do the research, might save yourself a few bucks! :-)

Thanks for your help!
I am torn between the Ocelot and HomeVision But not sure what to do. You are right the HomeVision is pricey particley her in the UK, I wish I could buy at the US prices!
However I am mainly interested in X10 and If statements etc but I guess infrared maybe useful if I can use infrared blasters instead of sticking little infrared emitters on my appliances. I would also like X10 to respond on contact closer if possible. Do you know if both the Ocelot and HomeVision will do this?

Homevision will do this ... Not sure about Ocelot, no experience with that unit ...
