I am installing some recessed lights but have no way of running a switch. I have power in my attic I can use but I want to use my x10 remote to turn them on and off. Is this possible and if so what product should I buy.

Thanks

There are X-10 modules available to be wired in without any switch at all.

Here's an example: [Link: smarthome.com]

There are other modules from other brands available as well.

You need to use inline lamp modules and a IR543 if you want to control the lights with a X10 remote.

If you are using a true X10 remote (with RF output instead of IR) you'll need a transceiver like the PAT01.

Another way you could do it is terminate your power in the attic with a gang box and receptacles. Terminate your ceiling lights with a plug. Then simply use a lamp module.

Not sure on codes but it worked for me.

I have one set of outside lights which are controlled by a PCS smartswitch that's mounted in the attic. I have access for programming but all control is via X10.
