I have outside flood lights on my detached garage that I wish to control by a wall switch (ws467) in my kitchen. The physical switch turns them on and off without any problem. However, an x10 command will not. I originally thought that it was due to the fact the lights were halogen and I finally found some old standard floods. Still won't work. Here is the strange part..... If I turn on another light in the garage from another switch that is also in the kitchen, I can then send x10 commands to the floods and they work! (I hope this makes sense) What is going on here????

Also, assuming I get this fixed, is it possible to use halogen lamps?

Thanks.

Can you turn the lights OFF with an X10 command after you turn them on with the physical switch?

If you have 240 volts going out there, you might need a phase coupler.

Sure sounds to me like when they are on they are dumping noise on the powerline, so the off command wont get through.

Bill.... I don't see it as a noise problem. The X10 commands go through when the OTHER physical light circuit is on, but none go through when it is off. Gotta believe that the physical light circuit is somehow killing the signal when it off. Doesnt' make a lot of sense to me.
