I have a rather small X-10 setup in our apartment including two standard X-10/RadioShack wall switches (the WS467), I believe.

They have a tendancy to turn themselves on in the middle of the night if not "locked off" with the slider at the bottom of the switch. Both of them do this, so I get the impression that this is somewhat of a design flaw (I've read about lots of other people with the same problem).

I've tried some of the fixes with limited results.

What I want to know is if there are higher quality switches from different brands that are less prone to this problem - PCS models or the like.

PCS switches are very good. I never have any problems with mine. And, you can program them with a computer, setting up scenes, etc.

V, have you tried changing everything to another house-code? You might have X-10-using neighbors.

Yeah, I've tried several now.

Just for additional information's sake, the most affected unit is #5, followed #2.

I have two lamp modules (#3, #4) that have never misfired, as well as an appliance module (#6) and the transciever (#1) that have behaved perfectly as well. The only modules that go on by themselves are wall switches.
