Does a template exist where you can print from a laser printer and cut out for the X10 remote CR12A? Kind of like DESI's for telephone systems. Thanks!

I just made one using WordPerfect. You could do it with any word processor, or use Excel, sizing and spacing the cells to fit.

I wrote a CGI program that generates a template in PDF format and will even fill in the slots with values you enter. (I'm assuming the regular X-10 Palm Pad remote uses the same template as the CR12A)

You can try it out here:

Please go easy on my server :)

Slick VMark. Makes my word processor generated labels look a little tacky.

Is there a way to save that onto my harddrive so I don't have to put traffic on your server everytime I use it?

Well - it's a cgi script written in Perl that actually generates the PDF. In it's current form you really need a unix* webserver use it.

If you have that, I'd be happy to send you the files.

For light to moderate use, I really don't mind people using it from my server though - I'm not charged by the MB or anything :)

* whatever UNIX flavour you prefer :)

Oh, as a side note, the FireCracker software for use with the FireCracker serial module offer's pretty much the same functionality. It's a Windows program (I don't run windows, which is why I took it upon myself to write one I could use from the web).

The FireCreacker download moves around once in a while, but currently lives at the following URL:

It's been a while since I used it, so I don't remember if it expects to find a FireCracker module in order to run or not, but I think you should be okay.
