OK... I just setup the code for X-10 on my new SL-9000. But... what are the buttons to turn off A-5. The manual has a code for X-10 but doesn't say how to use it.

Thanks for any help

In order for your Theater Master remote to control X-10 you also need a device from X-10. It is the IR543 (Home Automations Systems Model number is 4040 and Home Controls is XT543). This is a device you plug into the wall. It also has a dial for setting what house code you want it to work with (in your case A). Then when you want to turn a light on/off you would put your remote in the X-10 mode and select the channel number that corresponds with your lights unit code (in your case 5). While pointing the remote at the IR543 you would press Channel Up (for on) or Channel Down (for off). To dim the light you would use the Volume Up and Down buttons on the Theater Master.
