I just installed a Radio Shack 120V neon "panel light". It looks like a small LED bulb, but it's 120V A.C. It's wired to a regular lamp cord with a plug. Even when the appliance module is turned off, the light still glows a bit. Of course, when the module is switched on it lights at full brightness. So, it's obvious that this module is "leaking" power and the leak is enough to light this tiny bulb a bit.

Do they all do this?

That's normal, it's how the module detects local operation.

I think there's a modification which disables the local-on feature. See if you can find instructions at http://www.x10ideas.com
