Ok, I've got my IR543 and PCSS1L installed and working to a point. I'm a X-10 ingnorant and don't understand the scene settings. How they work, how you program them, etc. I'm happy as a clam right now just being able to dim the lights from my Pronto. But I'd love to set some one button light levels and I'm sure it can be done. I just don't quite understand how. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

JKT, Download this master-programming manual from PCS at this link [Link: smartswitch.net]go to page 25 and set master scene enable to on. Once this is done you can use the default scenes if you have an IR543AH or set the scenes in mode 2 if your using and IR543. The switch documentation that is included in the box is not so good, this manual is the best although we hope to come up with something better on our help link www.x10.how.to in a month or two. Thanks Bill. I got the manual yesterday. Answered alot of questions.
Maybe you can help me with another question. Within the manual when it says "Press the channel 1 primary address eight times" my understanding is this is A1. Is this 1 on the IR543AH keypad or does it have to do with the toggle switch? The documentation provide with these devices stinks.

The primary address is whatever you assign to the switch, it's not always A1. If you want it to be A1 then you set the housecode to "A", set the slide switch to "1-4" then push the "1" button eight times.

Larry is right, but note that the default primary address will be A1. One problem with using the buttons on IR543AH to program the PCS switches is that you are limited by the buttons on the IR543AH to only sending codes 1 to 8. I use my pronto to do all the progamming of the PCS switches.

Seems like using the Pronto to program would be pain. I use a $16 maxi-controller which I can carry to an outlet near the switch I'm programming. It has buttons 1 through 16, all 16 housecodes, and the ON, OFF, Bright, Dim, ALO, AUO buttons.
Makes it really easy.

Larry I've got all the same buttons (except for the house codes) programmed into the pronto. My next step is to but the multiple button presses on to a single button on the pronto to make it even easier. The best way to program the switches is whatever works for you.

I guess, but you still have to carry the IR543 AND the pronto around to program plus pointing the pronto while programming and the lack of tactile feedback are all negative.
The macros would be nice but programming them would take more time. Would be a good CCF to upload, though. :)
