Hi Folks,

I have an extra one way Power Line Interface, with the rj11 phone cable.

My question is: What is the protocol for communicating with it and is that phone cable really serial? Is there a web link to cable schematics.

Thanks
Bill

Bill,

You didn't give a model number, but if it's a TW-513, See [Link: software.x10.com] for the documentation. As you'll see in the doc, it's serial in the sense that only one bit is sent at a time. Beyond that, it bears no resemblence to anything like RS-232. There are a few different devices that will translate to/from RS232 and TW-513/523 protocol.

If the module you have is a CP-290, then sorry I don't know where to get the documentation.
