I' using a IR543 to switch a Decora wall switch but it will not respond to any number codes, only all on or off. I doulble checked the switch and it is set to code A2 but will not respond to it.(I also tried several other code combos with no luck.) Any suggestions?

Have you tried other house codes on both the IR543 and Decora? Also have you tried plugging the IR543 into an outlet that is on the same brealer as the light switch? Bill www.homeautomationnet.com

Chad,
I apologize in advance, if this is not the problem. You need to press the number ("2" in this case), followed by "on" or "off". So, for control of individual units, it takes 2 button presses. All lights on, all units off, only takes 1 button press. Since you didn't say what remote you're using, I don't know what keys are mapped for "on" and "off" on your remote. Many remotes are using channel up and channel down, for on and off. If you're using a Pronto.... well then there should be custom X-10 on and off buttons.

Don't forget to try another transmitter with your switch, and/or another switch with your transmitter. Never assume anything! As an electrician, I've learned to try the basics first: Is it plugged in? Have you tried the bulb in another lamp? A known-good bulb in this lamp? Etc, etc.
