I have the At HOme controller and the time setting keeps going out of kilter. There are batteries in it and there have been no power failures in the past few weeks.

Any suggestions?

BTW, I am thinking of upgrading. Any suggestions for a unit with its own display? Under $300, 400?

Do you mean the Active Home (aka Home Director)?

The time keeping function of those controller is very rudimentary but will work reasonably well if you UNPLUG the data cord from the controller when you're not programming it or controlling it directly from the computer.

Not sure I know what you mean by a unit with it's own display. For an upgraded programmable controller I'd recommend the Ocelot which costs about $150. See the following link:
