I am very new to this and had a quick question for everybody. I hope someone can help me out and possibly make a recommendation. I recently blew my x10 ws12a wall switch after only 1 month. My set-up is as follows, my home theatre has 6 - 65 watt incandescant bulbs, I have 2 ws12a switches, one that controls 2 lights, and one controls the other 4. The one I blew is the one that controls the 4 lights. Is this just a fluke or did I overdo it? The switch says it handles a max of 500 watts, but like I said I'm very new to this.

So now that I have to replace this switch, what type should I replace it with? Everyone speaks highly of the PCS switches, should I buy one of these? It just seems like a lot of money for a light switch. I've seen $60 - $80 US for a PCS switch, after converting this to Canadian, paying taxes, and paying duty, I'd be looking at about $100-$140 Canadian for a light switch. What's a good price for a switch that would suit my needs?

I would appreciate any recommendations, I don't know what I would do without the help of everyone on this board! Thanks again!

Jeffoo,

I mail me if you are interested. There are two dealers that I know of (though, I am sure there are more), in the Toronto area. You would be paying about what you are stating above for CAD$, but you can go to the place to talk it over with the retailer while looking at the product (I like to kick the tires) as well as go to him if there is a warranty problem. This is a real issue when buying direct from US.
