Have 50% of my house wall switches replace with x-10
Got few motion detectors for light (to let me know when someone close to the door or outsize...)
Got a copler and amplifier installed
Now I want to setup
1. the low voltage garden lights to some x10 system
2. the air condition + heater to some x10 controlled system
3. The 10 station water system for the garder
4. an RF repeater/amplifier so I can control it all
from anywhere in the house (at the moment it working
from 50-60 feet but I want it from 100-200feet!)

Any expirience with any of my 1-4 goals?
Any "don't do this!" sugestions?
thanks,
Shai

Shai,
I have X10 control of my garden (low voltage) lamps. I used an Appliance module (AM466) that I put in a plastic bag (Baggie) and poked the AC prongs through the plastic. I added a little duct tape to seal it against weather. ( And as my wife said, to be sure it is butt ugly!) The whole works is controlled by ActiveHome and it works great. No more do I have to move those little plastic tabs that set the time. I was forever dopping them under the ground cover. Now ActiveHome knows what time the sun sets, and takes care of turning the garden lights on. I set them to go off at a pre-set time instead of dawn.
That's your number one. Let us know about the rest of your goals.

I called and talk to asihome.com, and I am ready to order simple components to controll my garen lights.
Check this out: For the transformer of the outdoor light, just plug it into a x-10 receptacle (less than $30 - Leviton 6227- Leviton Split Receptacle)
Use home-seer, or any software for time, or better off they told me about a simple $24 super timer: MT10A minitimer. With shipping, it less than $60.00, and it should take care of point-1
I am going to order it Monday.
My wife, hate to wall switches and slave I use
because the slave is different than the dimmer switch and both are not true rockers (I got the deals from x-10, it works but it feel like cheep plastic...)
I have about 25 wall switches, and a $80.00 PCS or Leviton going to be hard on my pocket.
I did 50% of the house but I think I am going to redo it and complete the other 50 with a better wall switches.
Any input? - something that feel like a simple on/off wall switch, as they call it "true rocker" (so the wife will not bitch).
Thanks , Shai
