I use a Pronto with the ir543(4040)there are 2 things that I would like to know. 1. Can I place a wall switch that is the type with a keypad like 12061 SoftTouch IR KeypadLinc found at [Link: smarthome.com]? Will this be compatable with the 4040 or will it comflict with it. I am trying to make it idiot proof for the family.
2. I want to install a new light fixture in the dining room that is halogen what is the best x-10 switch for this? I would like for it to be able to dim the fixture.
Thanks!

You can use whatever in-wall transmitter you want. There is no interaction between the in-wall transmitter and the IR543.

From what I understand, 12061 SoftTouch IR KeypadLinc will not use the same Pronto IR codes that control the ir543(4040). That is to say that the 12061 SoftTouch IR KeypadLinc cannot be used as another ir543.

Just teach your remote the 12061's IR codes.
