I would like to control some of the lights on my barn from my house. The distance is 60 feet. Is there an x-10 product that will allow me to do that?

Using any of the X10 RF devices, you can get pretty good results. However you can always add an RF extender, here's one I found doing a quick search:

I'm sure there are others out there, but at least you know you can do it! This one claims up to 600 feet!

I need to add that there are no electrical connections between the house and barn. Do X10 products still work?

As long as the house and barn are served off of the same transformer you'll have a path for the X10 signals. Whether or not the signals make the trip with enough signal strength left to provide reliable operation can only be determined by trying it out.

Tim,

Where the RF signal originates is irrelavent (assuming it reached the barn destination). Once the signal is received in the barn, it will do its thing. In the barn, you'll need a transiever (or other X10 RF reciever) and of course a switch for the light itself.

Thank you,

Tim,

We have a package deal with a TM751 transceiver and a palm pad remote for $17.95. Do a search for "X10_Special" put this with the appropriate X10 switch or module and you should have what you need. The 60 feet is pushing it but I think it will make it.

Thanks, Bill E.
Do I just replace the current wall switch with one from X10? I will be controlling either a high pressure sodium light or four 75 watt spotlights.
Will the equipment that you described handle more than one switch?
I do appreciate the help.
