Anyone here who has gotten the VCR Commander and X-10 commands working using the X-10 Commander please let me know how you did it.
Here is what I do and it does not work.
-I run the X10 commander software.
-I run through the first-time setup and setup the TV and VCR codes.
-I can power on/off TV and VCR just by pushing the buttons with the left mouse button on the View screen.
-I setup a "VCR On" Macro under the "Configure Macros" screen. This macro works find when I press the VCR On button on the View screen using the left mouse button.
-I setup a "VCR Off" Macro under the "Configure Macros" screen. This macro works find when I press the VCR Off button on the View screen using the left mouse button.
-I then added the "Edit Event" to the "VCR On" macro and set House Code to "A" and Unit Code to "8". Checked the "Start macro command when this event is received" and set to "On".
-Now I have displayed in the "X10 Commander Macros" screen the Commands: VCR On - A8 On VCR Off - A8 Off
-When I press the "8 On" button with the PalmPad, the VCR will come on. In the black display window of the commander software on the line CMD, there is a line of dotted green scares that stay there. I cannot issue any other commands either from the PalmPad or from left mouse button clicking on any View menu buttons. If I exit the X10 Commander software and re-run it, then I can do the command again from the PalmPad (like pressing the "8 off" button), but it locks up again.
My ultimate goal is to have a HawkEye II Model MS14A turn On the VCR, then start recording when there is motion, and after 1 minute or more, stop recording and turn off the VCR. This will also turn on a XCAM2. From reading all the documentation, it should be able to be done.
