I have zero knowledge when it comes to handywork, let alone electrical handywork. I was quite proud of myself when I fixed my doorbell without electricuting myself. Can someone please go through the process of mapping out the step by step process of how to replace an existing wall switch with one that is X-10 compatible. Or is this something I should just leave to the professionals? If not, them please include what tools, items I will need to do such as conversion and an approximate amount of time it should take to complete. Thank you for your patience and any assistance.

To answer part of your question, I've put together a series of scematics showing the wiring of X10 switches in various applications. [Link: ourworld.compuserve.com]

Heres a bit of advice, lick both your fingets, grab the positive and negative ends of the wire, and step in a puddle of water. That should do the trick.

Never mind that the instructions are included in the box...throw them away and whine in a forum until someone does it for you.

"Well I am certainly wiser than this man. It is only too likely that neither of us has any knowledge to boast of; but he thinks that he knows something which he does not know, whereas I am quite conscious of my ignorance. At any rate it seems that I am wiser than he is to this small extent, that I do not think that I know what I do not know."
