OK, I have one Switchlinc (w/2-way) in my living room and it has worked fine for me. I would like to add one in my bedroom and use a "Good Night" type scene that would turn off the living room light and turn the BR light on. This should be possible, correct?

Now, the Switchlincs have adjustable brightness levels when you turn them on. If I had the bedroom default brightness to full on, could the above scene instead have the BR light go to 50% brightness, rather than full?

I haven't figured out how to deal with preset dim levels. It sounds like I should be able to tell the BR light to go to some preset dim level to accomplish what I want, but how?

Control would be via Pronto/IR543 and the RF controller that comes with the Firecracker kit.

Thanks in advance,
Bryan

That should be no problem at all, that's what scenes are for. The Switchlinc supports up to 64 scenes per switch so you've got plenty of room to play.

I don't own any Switchlinc's but the scene programming instructions will be in the manual that came with the switch or, if you can't find it, you can download the manual from [Link: smarthome.com]

In order to program it for scenes, you need to be able to send commands like O16 N16 M16 P16 M16 without on ON or OFF - an X-10 Maxi-Controller can do this - see page #7 of the Manual.

And yes, each switch in each scene scene can have its own ramp rate and brightness level.

You can change the ramp rate and the preset on level manually - see page #5 of the manual.

Cheers, Jim.
