Is there a way of testing to see if a passive coupler has failed?. The reason I ask is after a year of trouble free operation several lights have started to work intermittanly. Turning on the dryer solves the problem every time so pretty sure the coupler has failed. I checked it with a meter and DO NOT have any continuity between between the hot and neutral leads. Seems like I should.

Skip,

Sounds like it's gone, the only way I know to test is with a signal analyzer. The dryer/oven test is a fairly good one. There would not be continuity between the hot and neutral, things would be fairly exciting if there was. Make sure you have power to both legs of the coupler, and that the breaker (if you’re using one) has not gone bad.

If you wanted to send it in I would check it out for you, but by the time postage is paid you might as well replace it. You might want to check out the CR230, I have sold quite a few that has solved a lot of problems.
