Hi All,

Is this switch good?
HC6343WIX Leviton Dimmer Switch, 1000 Watt, Identical to the LV6343 - $54.95.
It has x10 extended codes for scences. Do extended codes work with the IR543, if not how do you access them?

Thanks,

Rob

Rob,

You can’t set scenes with the Leviton and the IR543. Leviton make a fine switch but it is hampered by the fact that it’s scenes work with Leviton proprietary code. There are third part devices like the Ocelot, HAL and HAI that will send the Leviton code but not X10 produced products. Spend the extra buck and buy PCS, if you don't already have a Leviton code controller. Other than this one problem Leviton make quality products.

Rob,

Are the PCS switches quite? No humming when dimming or in a dimmed mode ? The Leviton switches I have make a noticeable hum.

I have heard a PCS hum, but it is the exception, and is fairly rare from my experience. PCS make the highest quality switch on the market. Maybe some others can share their experiences.

The only humming I've ever heard in a PCS installation is from the load. Some light bulbs will have a very slight hum when dimmed but I've yet to hear the switch itself hum.

WOW, umm, ROB....

Yes very good switch and yes it is the LV6343WI check the price difference andx I think you will find the $54.95US to be the best around. As far as the quality of the switch you tell me it is:

1000 Watt Inductive and Incandescent
3-Way or Single Pole
Does NOT nedd a Neutral
Soft On/Fade Off
Scene (Group) Compatable
Intellisense (AGC)
True Rocker Style Operation
Local and Remote Dimming
1% Dimming increments
Remembers last dimming level

Not to say that PCS switches are not good switches, because they are great switches, but as I have seen on this board and other boards Price is always a big concern

Just my 2 cents
