I'm a newbie that's trying to figure how to program X10 commands into MX-500 macros.
I've setup a X-10 device button w/pre-programmed code 183. It seems to recognize the following buttons:
1-9, & 0 = unit codes CH+ = on CH- = off Vol+ = bright Vol- = dim Mute = all off Power = all lights on Pause = on Stop = off
The two "ON" buttons (CH+ and Pause) don't seem to work in macros because they have special funtions for macros (Save & delay).
While testing other buttons I found that << (REW) works to turn on a light(but not appliance modules) if preceded by a unit code.
What I need is a button to turn on appliance modules. Any help would be appreciated.
P.S. I don't have another remote that accepts discrete codes.
Thanks.

I ran into the same issue when creating my X10 macros under the FAV button. I see only 2 options: 1. Changes are that you have 1 other remote that came with you equipment that can learn? If so, teach it the X10 commands, then teach them back to the MX500 on different buttons. 2. By an Cinema 7 or RS-1994 remote, and use it to teach X10 to the MX500.

Or you can get 6-in-1 remote form X10 next time they have end of the month sale- they always have a free item with the purchase, which you can ask customer service dude to substitute for remote. Use that remote to teach your MX500.
