X10 Appliance Module and Panamax 1000

I just installed some X10 equipment to automate my home theater. All the of the gear is in a closed closet through which I use an IR repeater to drive all the stereo components via my Pronto.

I am using a Panamax 1000+ line conditioner to handle the power to all the components. The Panamax has a 'line sensing' 120VAC/12VDC plug that you can use to remotely turn on the power to the Panamax. This plug needs to be plugged into a 'switched' outlet of a component that is 'always on'. Turn on the component via the remote, and the 'switched' outlet comes on, turning on the rest of the system.

None of my gear has an external outlet. So, I thought I would use an X10 appliance module, in conjunction with the IR543. Unfortunately, it doesn't work. The Panamax thinks the Appliance Module is 'hot' even when 'Off'. I put a voltmeter to it and found that the Appliace Module runs 111V when 'Off' and 120V when 'On'. Does anyone know how the appliance module works? Is it just cutting current via a relayed resistor? Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks,
Matt
