Steve,

It still flickers with the pin seven cut only. It does not flicker with the diode cut (with or without the pin seven cut).

ok, i see. cutting the diode eliminated the trickle current through the load.
cutting pin 7 removes local control...nothing to do with current through the load. Pin 7 and the diode are not related in this case. to eliminate the trickle current, remove the 1N4004 diode connected to the 2.2K resistor and the .01uf cap.

Steve

I have been controlling a GE Profile floor lamp Torchiere (dimmable fluorescent (2D technology)) with an appliance module. The lamp is fully dimmable and I leave it set a about half brightness and switch it on and off with the appliance module.

My problem it that I have had 3 of these lamps stop working. They seem to work fine for about a month or two and then they develop a flicker that goes from bad to unbearable.

Could the appliance module be damaging the lamp in some way.

I was going to make the cut in the diode but did not realize that there was still a trickle current through the load.

Would you happen to have a picture of the modification you are talking about that will remove the trickle current through the load? (For those of us that are picture literate but know nothing about electronics.)

Thank you

David
