Does anyone know if my Powermid ST539 will double in use as an IR543. I'm currently using it to control an IR unit located in another room but would love to use it with my x-10 control and my new Sony RMAV2100.

Thanks... Paul

NO.

You MUST use the IR543. I have the exact same setup as you including the Sony 2100.

The powermid works as follows:
The "Powermid sender" receives an IR signal. It resends the signal as an RF signal. The "Powermid receiver" receives the RF signal and resends it as an IR signal.

The IR543 works as follows:
It receives an IR signal. It sends it over the house wiring using the X-10 control protocol to the appropriate module or modules.
