Hello everyone,

I'm a little confused with evertything I've read here. Maybe you could make some suggestions. I live in an older apartment, and all of the wiring is older (just two prongs, no ground). Can I use X-10 under these circumstances. If so, I currently own a pronto, so I shouldn't need a remote, I'd like to control just two lamps for now. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Two prongs are perfectly safe for X10 the third wire is called a safety ground and was designed to make your breaker trip fast to protect you. Two or three prong makes no difference to X10. In fact most X10 transmitters are two prong including the IR543 you need.
