Hi All,

I have a X10 flood light that has stopped woking. The lights do not come on anymore. The X10 signal still works fine, I have a remote chime connected ant that works great. Any ideas why this is happening, I plan on taking the unit apart next weekend, but don't know what to look for. The lights are not bad I checked them elsewhere.

Thnaks,

Rob

Rob,

How do you know the signal works fine? Just because you have a remote chime plugged in somewhere and it works, does not mean much to your floodlight. Now if your flood light is plugged into the same powerline as your chime than it would mean something. I would bet you have a week signal due to distance or noise. Unfortunately without a test meter that measures noise and signal strength there is not a lot you can do but experiment. If you are planning to take your floodlight down than when you do, set the floodlight address to the same as your chime and carefully plug the leads of the floodlight into the outlet of your chime, then send an X10 signal to activate them both. If the chime responds and the floodlight does not than yes your floodlight is bad. Repairs on the floodlight are not that practical when a new one runs $37.

Bill,

Maybe I did not state the problem correctly. When I set the motion sensor off, I here a click and the remote chime works. The problem is that the actual lights on the flood lights do not light. They used to work fine.

Presumably you've checked out the bulbs?

Yes, the bulbs are fine, as I mentioned above.
