Can .ccf files be used with the T2?

There are a number of .ccf files for devices that may be useful for me. Is there any way to convert or otherwise utilize a .ccf file with the T2? For instance, I have a remote (1 out of 7) that the T2 simply will not learn. There is a .ccf file for it but I can't seem to figure out how to get Touch Designer to use it. Any ideas?

You can't. However, by copying the IR hex codes out of it (you'll need ProntoEdit for this) you can drop them into the somewhat undocumented T2 hex code converter, which is part of the program that builds remote libraries. I think it's been described in this forum, or check the link at the top of the FEATURES section on this site.

Thanks Daniel, I was able to get a copy of ProntoEdit and copy the IR codes to my T2 as you described. Unfortunately, your site does not have the .ccf for my exact remote. I have a Panasonic PV-S4366. The codes for the PV-S4566 did not work (a shot in the dark). I tried several other Panasonic .ccf files that seem like possible (but unlikely) matches and they did not work either. Is there anywhere else I can go for .ccf files or is there any other way I can get the codes for this particular remote?

By the way, I have tried everything (including standing on my head) but the T2 will absolutely not register when trying to learn from the PV-S4366 remote. No signal, nothing, not even a momentary blip, nada. Used fresh batteries. Tried all angles. Nothing.

I too thought I had tried all angles for learning off the RM-AV2000 (for some discrete codes), but I did eventually find one that worked. Pointing downwards, at an angle, nose touching the T2. Only a very, very small window where the T2 actually saw the signal. But it worked. No problems from my other remotes though.

As a last resort you can always send the Panasonic remote to RTI and have them learn the commands for you, it says that they will do that for you in the manual.

It is strange that Panasonic would re-invent the wheel by using different codes on models so closely related.

Daniel, you inspired me to try one more time and guess what. Offset (on the horizontal plane) 50% and rotated 90 degrees (keys horizontal on T2 vertical on PV-S4366 remote) one to one and a half inches apart and BINGO I got a signal. It was a little tricky entering all the keys but I managed.

Moral to the story: Never give up, there is probably a way to get the T2 to learn just about any remote given a little time an patience.

Also, thanks for the great site. It has been invaluable to me! Who says the best things in life aren't free. Or at least a whole lot cheaper than a T2!
:)
