Hi Guys,

It is very hard to get a universal remote to handle the TiVo well. The problem is that you use many of the buttons quite often, especially the navigation buttons. I have a pronto ccf that I don't hate using, but I still prefer the Philips TiVo remote by a long shot. I love the fact that the RTI has navigation hard buttons so this remote may be able to handle a TiVo better than the Pronto.

If any of you have tried the RTI with a TiVo, I would love to hear your experiances. This has become the ultimate test of remote coolness for me. :)

Thanks!

Will

It works like a charm. The software even includes the tumbs up and down icons...

I think it works great with a TIVO! My only complaint is that the discrete "return to Live TV" command supplied in the RTI code library does not work.

Thanks for the info, I really don't know if I am glad or sad to hear that it works well with the TiVo. I am glad because that is probably my most important equipment, and sad because now I have to think about retiring my Pronto for a new remote. :)

Thanks,

Will

Will,

I had no problem retiring my trusty old Pronto - I looked at it as evolution :-).

I also retired a Pronto for the T2 with a TiVo.

Works great. I have the 'cursor' keys act as transport controls in normal mode and then switch to cursor keys again when I enter a menu.

The only thing the T2 is missing is the hard transport buttons.
